Challenge
When Michael Eisner's Tornante Company launched the quirky claymation comedy Glenn Martin, DDS, they needed a theme song as offbeat and hilarious as the show itself.
Solution
We teamed up with longtime collaborator David Feldstein and went all-in on weird and fun, creating a one-take anthem called 'Let's Hit The Road.'
Results
With just one mic in the room and zero overthinking, the lyrics practically wrote themselves in under an hour. It was bold, irreverent, and totally in sync with the show's tone.
Glenn Martin, DDS (Nick@Nite) – A One-Take Wonder
When Michael Eisner's Tornante Company launched the quirky claymation comedy Glenn Martin, DDS, they needed a theme song as offbeat and hilarious as the show itself. Enter Music Supervisor Kevin Edelman, who originally considered big-name rock bands like Soundgarden. But once we saw the wild animation, we knew it needed a completely different approach.
We teamed up with longtime collaborator David Feldstein and went all-in on weird and fun. The result? A one-take anthem called "Let's Hit The Road." With just one mic in the room and zero overthinking, the lyrics practically wrote themselves in under an hour. It was bold, irreverent, and totally in sync with the show's tone.
Even though the show only ran for two seasons, we're still proud of the musical risk we took. Sometimes the most unconventional methods create the most memorable results — and this one's still a favorite.
